Photo Safari IV - Top Photos : Photo Safari IV sent 11 teams down to the Waterfront and over to the Arboretum. The new category "Faceplant" had teams lying on the ground all over the city and often in Safeway or QFC. The great props this year included the almost lifesized Miss Piggy, a silver torso, and a collection of Barbi and Ken dolls. This year we learned that planning your route at CC's may not yield you the most productive day and that the artist may not always know where his/her art is located. Photo Safari III : The third annual Photo Safari had 50% more teams than last year. With 60 subjects to choose from, the nine teams found all but six. I really didn't expect anyone to find Sanjaya though. The winning team won by only 50 points over the next place team. The bonus for second best photo put them over the top. It was the closest scores yet.

Olympic Sculpture Park Grand Opening : The Seattle Art Museum's new sculpture park opened on 1/20/07. There are 19 permanent pieces although the ones closest to the water were not quite done so I didn't take any photos of those.

The Long Walk, December 2006 : On 12/28/06 I decided to go for a long walk. It was a beautiful day. I walked all the way to Bellevue and then took the bus back. In the end I completed 27,000 steps acording to my step meter.

Mondo Scooterama : On 7/15 I helped out my good friend Tim as he is directing a movie here in Seattle called Mondo Scooterama, http://www.mondoscooterama.com/. It was a complicated day with the largest amount of cast and extras. My job was to hold his notes, problem solve small issues, run people up to the staging area three blocks away, and signal the scooter gangs to turn the corner when I got the call on the walkie-talkie. It was a lot of fun.

Seattle Pride 2006 : For the first year, the Seattle Pride Parade and Festival was downtown instead of on Capitol Hill. There was much controversy, but it turned out great. The parade was much more managable on 4th Avenue. The Festival at the Seattle Center was fantastic. It was the best Seattle Pride ever! Of course the 85 degree weather didn't hurt.

Photo Safari II : The second Photo Safari had twice as many teams as the first one last year. There were 60 subjects in 5 categories. Only 4 subjects were unfound by any team. The winning team of David, Joe, and Don found 48 of the 60 items and had numerous bonus points. The best in show photo went to Eric, Frank, Matt, Frank, and The Gnome. They createed a truely disturbing reenactment of the masacre at the house on Capitol Hill last month.

Fire at 12th and Howell : When the apartment building across the street from my office caught on fire, every fire station in the city came to the rescue. Trucks were lined up 12th from Denny to Pine. No one was injured but my street was crawling with sexy firefighters, sexy police officers, and sexy paramedics. I arrived after the fire was out.
